Proof of Covid-19 vaccination or negative Covid-19 test required at North Carolina Symphony concerts in Lee Auditorium; face masks must be worn at all times

Beginning October 1, 2021, all audience members attending North Carolina Symphony performances at Lee Auditorium in Southern Pines are required to provide proof of full Covid-19 vaccination, or if they cannot be vaccinated, a negative Covid-19 PCR test completed within 72 hours prior to entering the venue.

Guests who are unable to provide verification of vaccination or a negative Covid-19 PCR test may contact the North Carolina Symphony Box Office at 877.627.6724 or by email at tickets@ncsymphony.org Monday-Friday, 9am to 5pm to discuss flexible options for their tickets.

Everyone coming to Lee Auditorium to attend a North Carolina Symphony performance, regardless of vaccination status, will be required to wear a mask. These policies and procedures are being put in place as part of a commitment to creating a safe and comfortable environment for performers, audiences, staff, and volunteers.

Covid-19 Vaccination and Mask Policy

Q: How is the North Carolina Symphony defining “fully vaccinated”?

A: Per the CDC, “Fully vaccinated” requires the final vaccination dose to be administered at least fourteen days prior to the performance or event date.

 

Q: Are your performers and staff vaccinated?

A: The majority of our staff and performing artists are vaccinated. For performers under the age of 12 who cannot be vaccinated, negative PCR tests are required by the North Carolina Symphony.

 

Q: What if I forget my proof of vaccination?

A: If you are vaccinated and forget your card, we will work with you to find an electronic record of vaccination.

 

Q: I have received my first Covid-19 vaccination dose. Will my first-dose vaccination card be accepted at entry?

The North Carolina Symphony is offering the following ticketing options:
For all subscription tickets (purchased online, by phone, or in person) and for individual tickets purchased by phone or in person:

  • Receive a credit to your Symphony account to be used for a future performance. The credit may be applied toward any North Carolina Symphony ticket or subscription purchases through December 31, 2021.
  • Designate your ticket payment as a donation to the Symphony. Your ticket(s), when donated, will count toward the State of North Carolina Challenge Grant goal. We appreciate your support in this difficult time.
  • Request a refund to your original method of payment.

 

Q: What about children under the age of 12?

A: Children under 12 who cannot be vaccinated are a very special case. Under the current guidelines, a negative PCR test taken within 72 hours prior to the event date is required. We are encouraged by news of vaccinations for those under 12 years of age and will adjust our policy as developments in this area evolve.

 

Q: How long will this last?

A: We are monitoring news out of the CDC and taking advice from NC DHHS and our medical advisors.
