TANNER WEST

Tanner West first started performing with the North Carolina Symphony when he was studying at UNC Greensboro. He was offered an acting horn position in the fall of 2021 while pursuing his Performance Studies Certificate at the Colburn Conservatory of Music, where he was studying with Andrew Bain.

West has performed with a number of orchestras including the Los Angeles Philharmonic, San Diego Symphony, and Charlotte Symphony Orchestra. In 2015 he was named the second horn of the Fayetteville Symphony Orchestra; he has also appeared as a soloist with the Durham Symphony Orchestra in collaboration with the American Dance Festival.

West has participated at the Colorado College Music Festival and Music From Angel Fire music festival, and has spent three summers at the Aspen Music Festival where he was the third horn fellow of the Festival Orchestra. In his free time he enjoys playing golf, drinking great coffee, and spending time with his family and friends.
