Memorial Hall - Chapel Hill, North Carolina |
Memorial Hall, a 1,434-seat proscenium theater located on the campus of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, was built in the early 1930's. The on-site staff, both supervisors and crew, is composed of undergraduate and graduate students who are manageed by the Office of the Executive Director for the Arts. Directions:
On Cameron Avenue between S. Columbia and Raleigh Streets, on the UNC campus in Chapel Hill. From the East: take I-40 to exit 273B and you will be on Route 54 West. Stay straight to light at campus entrance. Turn right on Country Club Rd. which becomes Cameron Ave. at next light. Follow Cameron Ave. and you will pass the Old well on the right and Memorial Hall will be on your left. From the West: take I-40 to NC 86 (Airport Rd., not "Old 86"). Follow Airport Rd. into Chapel Hill, just past Chapel Hill town Hall (on right), Airport Rd. becomes Columbia St. At third light take left onto Cameron Ave. Memorial Hall is on your right. Park and Ride: The Symphony provides a bus service from two locations, University Mall between Dillards and Wachovia and Southern Villages near the Village Green Stage on Aberdeen Drive. The cost of the bus is incorporated into the price of the concert ticket. Buses start leaving promptly at 6:45 pm and also return after the concert has finished.
