Rising piano superstar Yevgeny Sudbin joins forces with Grant Llewellyn and the North Carolina Symphony on a disc of Russian piano concertos. Paired on the CD are the rarely heard original version of Sergei Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto No. 4, along with the Second Concerto by his close friend and colleague Nikolai Medtner. The two giants of Russian music each dedicated their respective concertos to the other. Recorded in Super-Audio Surround Sound by BIS Records in Raleigh's spectacular Meymandi Concert Hall in January and November 2008, this disc promises to be a major addition to the piano concerto discography.
