Saturday was a fun-filled musical adventure for 28 students who travelled from New Bern to hear “Halloween Spooktacular!,” the opening Young People’s Concert at Meymandi Hall in Raleigh.

The trip was made possible through the leadership of Craven County School teachers Karen Plaster, Beth Cox and Kim Scott and the support of New Bern donors.

The students had even more to talk about than the concert – they bumped into conductor Chelsea Tipton having lunch at McDonald’s across the street from the concert hall. Mr. Tipton talked to students and got them excited about the concert. He even posed for a picture with them – making this a picture-perfect day these students will never forget.
