Paul Gorski | Violin 2

Paul  Gorski Paul Gorski is celebrating his thirty-fourth season with the North Carolina Symphony.

A native of Chicago, Mr. Gorski came to North Carolina after serving eight years as Associate Concertmaster of the New Orleans Philharmonic. The world-renowned Santa Fe Opera was home to Mr. Gorski for sixteen summers. There he served as Co-Concertmaster under such conductors as Igor Stravinsky, Robert Kraft, Raymond Leppard, and Edo DeVaart.

Mr.Gorski received his undergraduate and graduate degrees from the University of Illinois in Champaign, Illinois, where he studied with Paul Rolland and Roman Totenberg. While at the University of Illinois, he soloed with the university orchestra on a four-month tour of South America sponsored by the U.S. State Department.

Mr. Gorski has served on the faculties of Meredith College and UNC-Greensboro. He has also been on the faculty of Canon Music Camp at Appalachian State University. Currently Mr. Gorski has an active teaching studio and performs regularly with small chamber groups throughout the area. Mr. Gorski is active in the Martial Arts and has a black belt in Tae Kwon Do.
